Artists statement

In my artistic work I explore memories, emotions and silence. My interest lies in the unconscious, the unspoken, and what is hidden between the lines.

The beauty of simplicity as found in nature allows me to discover new things. A further focus of my work is on my own biography and the concept of home.

I often use traditional techniques that I apply outside of their original context to produce multi-layered geometrical works: objects and drawings made from paper, thread or metal.

The circle is a recurring element, symbolically embodying unity and the cyclical nature of life. I begin at the center and work towards the outside. My meditative process leads to a rhythm of structures and shapes.

Bio

I was born in 1983 in Upper Austria. Since 2012, I live and work in Berlin. My passion for developing precise and detailed artworks evolved during my four-year training as a goldsmith at a technical college in Austria, where I graduated in 2001. My artistic journey has been shaped by diverse life experiences, including the birth of my daughter in 2003. Throughout the years, I have gained gained expertise in a wide range of materials and techniques, including cast model making, set construction, installation setup, jewellery manufacturing, and restoration. These diverse skills have enriched my artistic practice and approach. Today, as a self-taught artist, I work in my own studio in Berlin.
