An exploration of 10 generations of female ancestors. 257 women – 257 bundles of grass.
In Shamanism, it is said that all the experiences of our ancestors are also stored in our own system, and make an impact on each of us. In order to get closer to the women of my family, I visited the places in my home country Austria, where they grew up and lived their lives. At each of these locations, I harvested grasses, which I then dried and tied into bundles. No two are alike, yet they have much in common.
